September Giveaway ~ SallyBelleDesigns

Hipknitized Sponsor ~ SallyBelleDesigns

Today I bring you our September giveaway from

Hipknitized sponsor ~ SallyBelleDesigns.

In Sally's own words:

My name is Sally Krueger and I am a devoted wife and mama of three great kids. I LOVE being at home and raising my children. But recently, I found something I can do at home that expresses another great passion I have…photography! I have created a line of handmade (blank) greeting cards featuring my original photography. Because they are handmade, they have an extremely personal feel. And what’s more…I have an adorable set made exclusively for KNITTERS! My mother is an avid knitter, and I designed this set with her in mind. I hope you enjoy it as well! You can see the set if you click on “Knitters Only” Gift Set on the right hand sidebar of the site. There are many other sets and cards to see as well…so have fun! My thanks to Jen for providing this giveaway, and my thanks to you for checking out my website and for any feedback you may have!

Thank you to SallyBelleDesigns I love your handmade cards, they are absoulutly charming! I have purchased my own set to add to my new studio when my makeover is complete!

Summers End...

One of many of my seeds that I planted in Spring! (this pumpkin decided he'd rather grow on the step instead of on the ground. Ash keeps saying "silly pumpkin")

We have been busy! Summer is nearing end and we have been trying to make the best of it, walks to the park, picking fruits and veggies from the local farm, summer nights spent at the drive in...soon school will be back in and people will fall back to their daily routines. Lucky me, I have one more year at home with my little guy before he too will be returning to school :(..

I have been really busy creating too! Working on LOTS of projects, new designs, knitting orders and so much more. Something that I have learned in the last week is "The early bird gets the worm" this is so true, really I mean it makes total sense right? I'm a little of a nighthawk and prefer to do most of my creating and designing when I settle down for the evening, but lately I have making a point of getting up a couple hours earlier mostly because I needed a few extra hours in my day to keep up, lol...and honestly I feel better and the couple of hours of lost sleep hasn't really affected by day.

On my facebook page last week I asked you all what was on your needles...I usually finish one project at a time before starting to knit another one but lately with numerous things going on at once this is almost impossible to do, this moment I have on my needles:

a toddler sweater
cabled cowl
pumpkin hat
boys beanie
and an I-cord flower,

I guess variety is a good definitely keeps things interesting!

One of many projects on the go...this one being a sweater.

A Couple of Items for Fall

Not that I am trying to rush the Summer along but there is no other season I love more than Fall. The cool crisp breeze, the abundance of vegetables available, the evening sun rays on the leaves as they fall off the trees dancing their way to the earth's surface...oh so many things, hot apple cider, cozy knits, pumpkins, the anniversary of my son's birth (along with my mother's, father's and brother's)...believe me, I could go on!

Over the last week I knitted a couple of items that would be perfect when the cooler weather arrives. The first being a cozy baby sweater, this sweater is one that I have posted on here before, it is from Lion Brand Yarn's free patterns and is a really easy baby sweater design. For this one I crocheted a pea green edge along the sleeves, collar, opening and bottom, I find it's always nice to have one of these on hand as you never know when a new Fall baby may arrive!

The second item is a knitted pumpkin hat for a baby. I found this pattern on Raverly (where you also can find my free patterns listed) there are a variety of pumpkin hats to choose from. I probably wouldn't knit this exact hat pattern again, I just found the pattern a little difficult to follow for some reason and was a little disappointed with the final result.

So...have you started any projects for Fall, if so what's on your needles?
