Free Pattern: Brobee (Yo Gabba Gabba) Toddler Hat

Here is the free pattern for Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba that I promised you. Have fun with it and enjoy!!! ***The hat in the photo is crocheted but the pattern below is a knit pattern***

Yarn: I used lionbrand hometown USA (green bay)

The hat ends up being about 19.5" in circumference when finished...suitable for a toddler.
Needle Size: 9mm

I made this hat using the garter stitch (knit every row) to give it a bit more of a textured look.

Brobee Toddler Hat.
Cast on 44 sts.
Row 1: *K1, p1; rep from * across.
Continue in K1,P1; until piece measures 1 inch from beginning. Work in Garter st until Hat measures 8 inches long from beginning.
Next Row: (K2tog) across – 22 sts.
Next Row: Knit.
Next Row: (K2tog) across – 11 sts. Cut yarn leaving an 18 inch tail. Thread tail onto large-eyed needle and thread through remaining sts, pull tightly pull tightly to gather together. Knot securely.

Red Plates: (for on top of hat)

Make 3

Cast on 10 stitches

Row 1:knit

Row 2:k1,k2tog, repeat till end of row (7 sts)

Row 3:knit

Row 4:k2tog,k3,k2tog (5 sts)

Row 5:knit

Row 6:k2tog,k1,k2tog (3 sts)

Row 7:k2tog,k1

Row 8:k2tog

Row 9:k1

Pull yarn through last stitch and pull tightly.

Sew seam. Weave in ends. For the felt pieces I just cut them out freehand, hot glue gunned them to the hat then hand stitched around each piece to keep them in place!
