Homemade Play Dough

I found this recipe the other day and thought that I should share this with all the mommies out there. I find that with store bought Play Doh my little guy leaves the lid off so its hardens, mixes all the colours together, or feeds it to the dogs so in the end I feel like I am wasting money time and time again. Here is a recipe that you should all ready have in your pantry and is really simple to make .

You will need:

1cup flour

3/8 cup salt

1 tablespoon veggie oil

Natural Dye

In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Pour in the oil and pick what dye you would like to use, add the dye and stir together well. Knead the dough on a floured surface a few times. If you find that the dough is too soft add some more flour. When finished store the dough and air tight containers and keep in your fridge.

Here are some natural items you can use to add colour to your dough:

Brown-4 tablespoons cocoa powder and 3/8 cup hot water

Pink-3/8 cup hot beet juice

Orange-1 tablespoon paprika and 3/8 cup hot water

Yellow-3/8 cup hot water and 1 teaspoon turmeric
